Job Title: Civil Engineer
Job Description
As a Civil Engineer, you will utilize Civil 3D to create designs for grading/earthwork, erosion control, stormwater pollution prevention plans, and pavement design. You will prepare engineering analyses, designs, and calculations for various aspects of site development projects. Additionally, you will assist in project management tasks, including scheduling, budgeting, and design reviews. You may also visit project sites for field inspections as needed.
Responsibilities
- Create designs for grading/earthwork, erosion control, and stormwater pollution prevention plans using Civil 3D.
- Prepare engineering analyses, designs, and calculations for site development projects.
- Assist in project management tasks such as scheduling, budgeting, and design review.
- Conduct field inspections at project sites if necessary.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
- 2-5+ years of experience in site development.
- Experience in land development and stormwater analysis and design.
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with all project stakeholders including clients, contractors, sub-consultants, and residents.
- Strong interpersonal skills for public interaction and problem resolution with contractors.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- Organized, self-motivated, and dependable.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with state and local regulatory agencies.
- Experience in MicroStation is a plus.
- Ability to multitask and work effectively as a team member.
Work Environment
The company offers a hybrid work model, with new hires expected to work in the office three days per week initially, and experienced staff allowed two to three remote days per week. The office locations are in Warrenville, IL, and Champaign, IL. The organizational structure is flat, with shareholder/principals leading the market sectors and mentoring junior staff. The land development team consists of 8-9 individuals and collaborates closely with 50 different municipalities and other teams.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $90000.00/hr.
