Job Title: CAD Operator
Location: Pittsburgh Corporate Office (Hybrid) (No Relocation)
Job Purpose and Summary
The CAD Operator is a hands-on role reporting to the Team Leader, Engineer Services. The CAD Designer will be required to produce refractory drawings and Bills of Materials (BOM's) with attention to details, using AutoCAD (2D) and Inventor (3D) engineering software.
The candidate will be responsible for creating presentation drawings, design drawings and details. Drawing requirements may be as simple as a single shape (brick or cast shapes) to large and complex assemblies for use in the ferrous (steel) and non-ferrous (aluminum, copper, cement, etc.) industries. Drafter will need to work from sketches, models and verbal information to complete projects. Candidate will need to work with sales, marketing, and other associated company personnel to achieve company requirements and goals.
The Current Team:
The CAD Operator will work closely with fellow CAD Operators, Plant Engineers, Project Managers, Sales and Marketing Personnel, and other company employees.
Essential Job Requirements
- Produce finished drawings in detail degree, using industry standard techniques
-Perform calculations needed to solve scaling, dimensioning, and cross section interpolations; math skills with a mechanical aptitude
-The ability to read, understand, and produce construction drawings
-Interface with other designers and plant engineers to coordinate design information, material specifications, and mechanical assembly and testing procedures
-Ensure designs can be cost effectively manufactured to specifications via interface with engineering, manufacturing engineering, and quality assurance
-Quickly and efficiently update, correct and revise drawings per Project Manager's markups
-Minimum 3 years' experience utilizing AutoCAD and Inventor Versions 2019 or higher

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Other Attributes:
-Associates Degree or CAD technical degree
-1-2 years of related experience, preferably in refractory manufacturing
-Knowledge of Microsoft Windows applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
-Prefer experience creating a Bill of Materials
-Ability to work successfully in a team environment
-Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under tight deadlines
-Effective written and oral communication abilities
Travel Requirements:
Infrequent travel may be required to assist or fulfill assigned responsibilities.
