OES General Contracting Inc. has built an excellent reputation for outstanding quality and service in the Metro Vancouver area. Our office is located at 264-5148 Ladner Trunk Road in Delta, BC, and job sites vary across the Lower Mainland depending on the construction project. We are currently seeking one experienced Carpenter to join our team. The successful candidate will construct, install, maintain, and repair structures and components made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials. This is a full-time (35 hours per week), permanent position, ideal for a mature individual with a carpentry-related background. We offer a competitive wage and a positive work environment. All applicants must be able to communicate in English. However, given the diversity of the Lower Mainland, the ability to communicate in a second language is considered an asset.

As a Carpenter, you will be responsible for:
Reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine specifications and calculate materials required
Preparing layouts in accordance with building codes, using appropriate measuring tools
Measuring, cutting, shaping, assembling, and joining materials such as wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials
Building foundations, installing floor beams, laying subflooring, and erecting walls and roof systems
Fitting and installing trim items including doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware
Maintaining, repairing, and renovating residential and wooden structures
Ensuring a clean and safe work environment by adhering to all health and safety guidelines

Requirements:
Experience: Minimum of 4 years of experience as a carpenter
Education: High school diploma
Language:
English proficiency (verbal and written) is required

Essential Skills:
Precision in using hand and power tools safely
Ability to lift, carry, and move standard construction materials and tools safely
Proficient in measuring, sizing, and cutting
Good organizational and customer service skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong work ethic, punctuality, and reliability
Ability to meet tight deadlines
Must be able to commute to job sites across the Lower Mainland
Must possess a valid drivers license and own necessary tools and equipment

Compensation:
Wage: $35 per hour, paid biweekly
Vacation: 10 days per year
Benefits: Extended Medical benefits available after successful completion of a 3-month probationary period
