The right HVAC Technician II host checklist will include equal parts curious learner, innovator, administrator, detail driver, mentor, and motivator.

This role exists to perform installation, maintenance, repair or preventive maintenance to a wide variety of electrical systems and equipment to support all Dollywood Company Properties in accordance with regulatory codes at the county, state and federal levels. All of this will be done in a manner consistent with the mission, values and operating philosophies and standards of the Dollywood Company.

Additionally, the ideal candidate will be able display and live out Lead with Love qualities, strongly rooted in the Dollywood Company culture, by being patient, kind, trusting, unselfish, truthful, forgiving, dedicated and accountable.

Summary of Major Duties & Responsibilities

Regularly inspects and evaluates electrical and electronic equipment to ensure that it operates efficiently and safely: identify defects, hazards, or need for repair or adjustment to ensure abidance with codes

Diagnose common electrical system failures and provide immediate and long-term corrective action

Perform skillful conduit/wire installations, maintenance, repairs and preventive maintenance to a wide variety of electrical systems and equipment in accordance with regulatory codes at the county, state and federal levels

Clean and lubricate equipment, and maintain records on equipment status

Disassemble, repair and reassemble or replace defective electrical equipment such as plugs, switches, outlets, controls, ballasts, motors and appliances using hand tools, test equipment, and service manuals

Test installations to check and ensure continuity of the circuit, and the compatibility and safety of all components using test equipment such as an ohmmeter, amp meter, voltmeter, oscilloscope, or battery buzzer

Study blueprints and schematics and determine methods, materials, and equipment needed to complete the assignment; Plan layout to install electrical wiring, fixtures, and equipment depending on the local codes and job specifications

Determine materials needed for most frequently occurring repair work, prepare requisitions, and monitor inventory

Coordinate work functions with co-workers and other organizational departments. May assist in training lower-level apprentice Electricians and others

Maintain records of work completed and parts used

Perform duties in a safe manner in compliance with manufacturer's specifications, Dollywood Company policies and procedures, applicable regulations, and industry standards

Obtain proper permits as required by law to carry out electrical work on construction or remodeling projects

Management reserves the right to change and/or add to these duties at any time.

Educational and Experience Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required

Must be at least 18 years old

Four (4) years of progressively responsible journey level electrical experience; OR, completion of a four-year federally approved technical training program in electrical repair and maintenance and two (2) years electrical experience; OR, any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved

Proficient knowledge of tools, equipment, and materials common to electrical trade

Valid driver's license and proof of auto liability insurance for use of Company vehicles

Must pass post-employment offer drug test and background check

Able to work from all types of ladders (step ladders up to 14', A-frame ladders and all sizes of extension ladders and carry and relocate up to 12' step ladder by one's self)

Able to perform work at various heights (up to 90') from ladders, scaffold, aerial lifts, cat walks or other areas

Able to work in confined space such as switchgear room, manholes, utility tunnels, crawl spaces, attics

Able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull, and reach over head

Able to use hand tools, power tools and equipment such as air compressor, skill saw, electric drill, impact wrench, hand wrenches, shovel, ladders, etc

Able to utilize when required safety equipment to include hard hats, safety glasses, masks, harnesses or other fall protection, hand protection and other items as required for a specific task or job

Able to utilize mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, division and multiplication

Able to perform other duties as assigned
