Safety Manager** **Job Summary:** Ultimate is looking for a Safety Manager in the Kansas City Metro area. The safety manager will be responsible for ensuring that workplace environments are compliant with health and safety regulations and standards, while safeguarding employees, contractors, and visitors. This role involves developing, implementing, and maintaining safety policies and programs, conducting safety inspections, and training staff to minimize accidents and incidents in the workplace. **Key Responsibilities:** Develop and implement safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legal requirements and industry standards. Conduct regular safety audits and inspections across various areas of multiple facilities to identify and mitigate potential hazards. Monitor and analyze workplace accidents and incidents to determine root causes and develop corrective actions. Provide safety training and awareness programs for employees to ensure adherence to safety protocols and regulations. Collaborate with managers and supervisors to identify areas of improvement in safety practices and address safety concerns. Ensure the use of appropriate safety equipment and protective gear in the workplace. Maintain records of safety training, inspections, accident reports, and other relevant documentation. Keep and maintain a 52-compliance calendar. Prepare safety reports and provide recommendations for enhancing workplace safety to senior management. Stay updated with new regulations and industry best practices, ensuring continuous improvement in safety programs. Coordinate and lead emergency response drills, such as fire, evacuation, and first aid training. Conduct risk assessments and suggest measures to reduce potential hazards in work processes. Foster a safety culture through clear communication and proactive safety initiatives. May be required to handle physical aspects of the job, may need to help in departments outside of the safety role. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, Environmental Science, or a related field (preferred). Certification in Safety Management (e.g., OSHA, or similar) is highly desirable. Proven experience in a safety management role, ideally in an industry like construction, manufacturing, etc. Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, safety standards, and environmental laws. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to train and influence others on safety issues. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to address safety concerns and implement improvements. Ability to work under pressure and respond effectively to emergency situations. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other safety management software tools. **Working Conditions:** Working hours could exceed 50 plus hours, the work environment is much like a construction site, work can also be physically demanding. Candidate needs the ability to pick up 50 lbs. Frequent onsite presence to oversee safety practices and engage with employees.
