*This position will be based out of the Woodlands, TX and will be deployed to a client site in LA or TX*
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Promotes safe behavior, in accordance with Company expectations, and adherence to the safety rules on the project
- Leads a project development team that is focused on delivering power generation and storage projects that can be executed safely and enables the enterprise to meet the stated sustainability commitments
- Understands the requirements and contributions of critical team positions and that of the key stakeholders
- Organize and lead project teams to develop and execute solar and energy storage projects in accordance with the applicable corporate standards and guidelines
- Ensures that team members fulfill the responsibilities as required of their roles
- Navigates the project through the Entergy Stage Gate Process (SGP) and coordinates activities to meet the requirements of Entergy's SGP and associated deliverables (business case, estimates, schedules, gate review deliverables, etc.)
- Oversees the project team in the development of project deliverables thru the internal approval process
- Coordinates the activities of project stakeholders and working groups engaged in project work
- Serves as the commercial lead with full understanding of the contractual aspects of projects and the need to create a contracting strategy that can be executed safely, with high quality and acceptable risk allocation all while delivering cost and schedule certainty and maintaining expected project economic benefits
- Supports and/or lead contract negotiations for contracts and fulfill duties as contract manager
- Develops and maintains the Project Execution Plan and execute the project in adherence with this plan
- Establishes and maintains project documentation.
- Coordinates the efforts of all project participants, including consultants and contractors
- Ensures previous projects' Lessons Learned and applicable industry experience is incorporated into the project execution plan
- Manages the project in line with the project budget
- Ensures project controls are implemented for effectively managing project scope, schedule, quality, cost, cash flow, risk, contracts and communications in accordance with the applicable corporate standards
- Provides clear, timely and accurate project status reports for management
- Prepares reports and presentations to management including issues status reports
- Identifies, makes timely decisions, and takes prompt action on project issues that could impact project performance and promptly communicates issues to the next level of leadership
- Understands the roles of the Utility and regulators in project development and viability and works closely with the regulatory functions to support the requirement of receiving the necessary certifications.
- This position is required to support enterprise-wide DIB initiatives across the project team.
- Use lessons learned to improve quality of MATRIXs future projects; make recommendations to MATRIX as to the implementations of future policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering , Environmental Science, Construction Management, or related field. (or equivalent work experience)
- 2-5 Years of Experience in project coordination, site development, or construction within the energy sector.
- Familiarity with Combined Cycle Power Plant preferred
- Proficiency in Project Management Tools (Primavera P6, or equivalent scheduling software).
- Understanding of Safety & Environmental Standards relevant to power facility construction.
