Job Goals:1.To provide educational and operational leadership in the areas of curriculum, instruction, assessment, program evaluation, professional development, and data-informed decision making. 2.To lead the districts grant development and implementation for federal, state, and competitive grants in support of district and school initiatives. 3.To ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations related to accountability, civil rights, Title IX, and district operations. 4.To support and assist in the oversight of all departments including Human Resources, Food Services, Transportation, Technology, Custodial Services, Student Services, and school-based leadership.Appropriate DESE License Experience and Training: 1.Minimum of Masters degree in education administration or related field.2.Certification as or eligibility for Massachusetts Superintendent/Assistant Superintendent certification required.3.Minimum of three years successful administrative leadership in public education with supervisory responsibilities.4.Current, in-depth understanding of the state and federal laws and regulations associated with education. Performance Responsibilities:1.Lead curriculum development, instructional improvement, and assessment practices across all grade levels (PreK-12)2.Supervise and support principals and program directors in instructional leadership and operational management3.Coordinate the district-wide curriculum review cycle and ensure alignment with DESE standards and student needs.4.Oversee district grant initiatives, including proposal development, implementation, compliance, and reporting.5.Lead initiatives related to staff development, including planning and managing the annual district professional development plan.6.Manage Title IX compliance and serve as a resource for civil rights, bullying prevention, and student discipline procedures.7.Support the Human Resources function, including hiring processes, performance evaluations, and policy implementation.8.Collaborate with the Director of Technology and technical staff to promote effective use of instructional and operational technology.9.Guide data management and reporting systems to support accountability and improvement efforts.10.Provide oversight and coordination support for operational departments including Transportation, Food Service, and Custodial Services.11.Assist with the implementation of building-level school improvement plans aligned with district goals.12.Attend School Committee meetings and present reports as directed by the Superintendent.13.Serve as acting Superintendent in the absence of the Superintendent.14.Foster community engagement through communications, forums, and outreach initiatives.15.Maintain accurate records and reports for grants, professional development, and federal/state submissions.16.Represent the district at local, state, and national meetings, and share updates with relevant staff.17.Assist with special projects, research, and strategic initiatives assigned by the Superintendent.18.Demonstrate skill and objectivity in all interactions with students, staff and parents.19.Interpret and respond to new conditions, problems and opportunities in a positive and productive manner.20.Demonstrate willingness to accept and use feedback as the basis for modifying performance.
