Job Description

AECOM's Transportation business line has a position available in Piscataway, NJ or Bloomfield, NJ for a Civil Engineer with Highway Design experience. In this role the selected candidate will be working on projects associated with various New Jersey based Transportation projects.

The position entails the following critical responsibilities:

  • Primarily focus on the design of local, arterial, and limited access highways, adhering strictly to County, NJDOT, and NJTA design standards and procedures.
  • Develop and execute roadway/highway designs and plan development, encompassing all phases from conceptual design through final contract plans. This includes, but is not limited to, horizontal and vertical layout, typical sections, profiles, grading, cross sections, maintenance and protection of traffic, and construction plan preparation. Additionally, perform precise quantity calculations, develop comprehensive cost estimates, and provide supplementary specification support.
  • Compose and deliver technical reports and studies of the highest caliber, including Concept Development and Final Design Reports, ensuring all aspects meet or exceed industry standards.
  • Collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary design team to produce a comprehensive set of contract documents that meet all necessary requirements for construction purposes.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BA/BS + two years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Due to the nature of work, US citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficient with MicroStation, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE).
