Machine Operator (This Position is in Hartford, CT) Reference -EPR008299 Location - Greater Hartford Area, CT, USA Type - Full Time OurEthosEnergy Aerospace & Defense division is seeking a manually trainedMachinist for an FAA regulated workshop located in East Windsor, CT.This position is available on a 1st or 2nd shift basis and isresponsible for the set up and operation of surface grinding machines.This critical position will work with a team of engineers and productionpersonnel to resolve issues for our clients from commercial, businessand military markets. Successful candidates must be professional,passionate and able to pass a lab-based drug screen and occupationalhealth exam as per federally regulated aerospace and aviationguidelines. This is an excellent opportunity for career growth, andexposure to the manufacturing field for a person with traditionalmachining experience. Minimum qualifications require 2 years of manualmachine shop training and/or lathe machining work history in themanufacturing setting. Job Responsibilities Perform quality work onconventional operated surface grinding machines Use of measuring andtest equipment to ensure all dimensional requirements are met Select,align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments,accessories and materials on machines Work from and follow blueprints,diagrams, & written process instructions Lead inspection and documentmachinery for any needed repairs Make minor repairs on machinery asneeded Any other duties as required by the Company Required Skills /Knowledge Must be safety conscious and have the ability to adhere toimportant HSE policies Familiarity with MS Office, Word, and ExcelDemonstrated machine shop equipment training (I.e. CNC machines, lathes,mills EDM, etc.) Shop mathematics (addition, subtraction,multiplication, division) Strong command of the English languageverbally and in writing Machine and measure to close tolerances (.0002?)as required Interpret complex blueprint specifications, charts, andfollow work orders and engineering instructions as necessary Oncetrained, interpret engineering drawings in accordance with ASME Y14.5Experience 2 - 4 years\' experience manual machining on shop machinesEducation Requirements Vocational high school or technical schooleducation in machining and machining practices (Certificate ofcompletion required) High School Diploma or equivalent PhysicalRequirements Professional appearance and demeanor Good dexterity (grip,grasp, clutch) Ability to lift up to 50lbs. Ability to sit/stand for upto 8 hours a day FAA & DOT regulated work environment. Must be able topass required background and drug test.
