Job Description: Distinct Engineering Solutions, Inc. has an opening for a Geotechnical Project Engineer with about ten years of experience at our North Brunswick, NJ office. The successful candidate will be required to: Participate in project planning. Coordinate drilling subcontractors. Liaise with property owners and clients. Oversee execution of field investigations and review field data. Perform analyses and evaluation of subsurface materials, estimate geotechnical properties. Develop boring logs and cross sections using computer programs such as gINT. Prepare Geotechnical Data Reports (GDR). Apply geotechnical engineering techniques, procedures, and principles to perform settlement, slope stability, seepage analyses. Design foundations, support of excavation, and prepare submission packages including design calculations, drawings, and narrative reports. Ideal Candidate Should Have: B.S. or M.S. in Civil Engineering, with approximately 10 years of geotechnical engineering experience. PE or ability to obtain professional registration within one year in New York and New Jersey. Solid understanding of soil mechanics, shallow and deep foundations, slope stability, earth structures, earth pressures, instrumentation, construction monitoring, and soils laboratory testing. Knowledge of design software such as Driven, SHAFT, LPILE, GROUP, gINT, AutoCAD, and GRLWEAP. Excellent communication skills. Attention to detail with good judgment capabilities. Ability to provide management direction and work in a team environment. Must be able to perform field inspections of geotechnical and foundation projects. Field experience with construction inspection and monitoring is required. Must be willing to oversee field assignments and pile load tests. Possess a valid driver's license. Ability to work overtime.
