Engineering Technician - Quality Assurance
This technician supports the engineering team during planning, development, building/modification, and troubleshooting. They will perform non-routine and complex assignments involving responsibility for overseeing a build/modification project and reporting back to the engineering team any problems or concerns for variations during the project. They will oversee a complete project of relatively limited scope or a portion of a larger and more diverse project, select and adapt plans, techniques, designs, or layouts, contacts personnel in the engineering team to resolve problems and coordinates the work, reviews, analyzes, and integrates the technical work of others.
Essential Responsibilities:
1. The engineering team responsible for the project outlines objectives, requirements, and design approaches.
2. Completed work is reviewed for technical adequacy and satisfaction of requirements.
May be assisted by lower-level technicians and performs one or a combination of the following:
Reads, understands, and interprets complex drawings and specifications.
Conducts site inspections to ensure that all work, materials, and installations adhere to the contract documents and specifications.
Inspects materials and project build as it pertains to all disciplines.
Ensure the build of the project is performed to quality and safety standards.
Identify, document, and report any deficiencies or deviations from the contract documents during the project build.
Maintain accurate and detailed daily inspection reports during the project build to include observations, delays, deficiencies, and corrective actions.
Track the project progress, documenting activities and compliance with the project timeline.
Ensure compliance with safety requirements, both local and federal, including OSHA regulations.
Operate standard inspection tools, such as tape measures, levels, survey levels, and other devices to measure and verify project requirements.
Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:
Typical outdoor environment with no unusual hazards, frequent lifting to 20-50 pounds, kneeling, standing, and walking, routinely sitting and constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, must possess planning/organizing skills, and must be able to work under deadlines. Strong communication skill to liaise with the contract COR and engineering team.

As appropriate, each employee is responsible for completing all training requirements and fulfilling all self-aid/buddy aid responsibilities, participating in emergency response tasks and serving on safety committees and teams.

It is our policy to consistently provide services that meet customer expectations. Accordingly, each employee must conform to the Amentum Quality Policy and carry out job activities in compliance with applicable Amentum Quality System documents and customer contracts. Procedure Compliance - Each employee must read, understand and implement the general and specific operational, safety, quality and environmental requirements of all plans, procedures and policies pertaining to his/her job.
Minimum Requirements:
Vocational/technical training beyond high school and at least 5 years of job-related experience or equivalent.
Excellent communications and analytical skills; working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software application programs.
Must have verifiable experience in designing, developing, and constructing components and subunits.
Must have a valid and current state drivers license.
Must understand and be able to use Technical Manuals.
Must be able to complete paperwork associated with vehicle maintenance and repairs.
Ability to manipulate and use hand tools and hydraulic equipment.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Passing a pre-employment drug screen and a government background check is required.
Must be able to successfully pass a National Agency Check (NAC) within 60 days of hire if required and have a valid driver's license.
Must be available for any shift. Willing to work weekends and other hours as needed.
Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization. Note: US Citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization at this work location.
Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English.
