Seeking an experienced engineer with a heavy equipment background to support both sustainment and new product development (NPD) initiatives across crane systems, including diesel, hybrid, and fully electric platforms.
Job Requirements:
Engineering degree or equivalent experience in heavy equipment or related field
5+ years of experience with cranes or comparable machinery (e.g., CNH, CAT, John Deere)
Proven background in diesel hydraulic and diesel electric systems
Familiarity with hybrid and fully electric battery systems
Understanding of infrastructure, inland ports, ports, and rough terrain applications
Experience in sustainment engineering for operational platforms
Exposure to NPD environments and development cycles
Ability to design and support structural, mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and power systems
Experience with equipment controls and software integration
Preferred Skills:
Background working for crane manufacturers or heavy equipment service providers (e.g., Simmers Crane, Crane and Equipment Services)
Familiarity with regulatory and compliance standards in heavy equipment manufacturing
Proficiency in CAD tools and engineering documentation
Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis capabilities
Job Responsibilities:
Support sustainment of existing heavy equipment across various operating environments
Participate in NPD efforts for next-generation crane platforms including diesel electric and fully electric systems
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design meets operational and environmental requirements
Evaluate and improve system performance, reliability, and safety
Develop and review technical specifications, schematics, and engineering reports
Interface with production and service teams to resolve technical issues and ensure successful field implementation
Pay Details: $115,000.00 to $150,000.00 per year
