Roles and Responsibilities:
Review proposal specifications, drawings, and attend pre-bid meetings to determine the scope of work and required estimate contents. (Some travel required)
Produce, collect, and distribute Estimator RFIs.
Participate in proposal presentations to clients and project hand-off meetings.
Prepare thorough, accurate, and competitive estimates for construction projects by the established bid deadline.
Identify and incorporate value-engineered alternatives related to materials, construction methods, and design.
Analyze subcontractor proposals for cost and scope; develop a full scope of work for each sub-trade before and during bid solicitation.
Analyze estimates for unsuccessful bids to course-correct and increase the chances of winning future projects.
Organize and lead the transition of the finalized cost estimate to the assigned Project Manager.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of full-time experience estimating construction projects for a general contractor.
A degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field is preferred but not required.
Proficiency in construction estimating and takeoff software, including Procore, Sage, Building Connected, and BlueBeam.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry standards.
