*Program Leadership & Strategy
- Develop, implement, and manage EKIs corporate health and safety program across all operational states.
- Oversee ancillary safety programs including vehicle operation, hazard communication, equipment use, and subcontractor vetting.
- Maintain and update SOPs and safety policies to align with evolving regulations and industry best practices.
- Provide regular performance reports and strategic updates to the COO.
- Manage departmental budget and allocate resources effectively.
*Compliance& Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
- Maintain accurate records including OSHA 300 logs, workers compensation claims, audits,
- and training documentation. Manage third-party safety audit platforms (e.g., Avetta) and return-to-work programs.
*Exposure Monitoring & Medical Surveillance
- Oversee programs for chemical, physical, and biological exposure monitoring.
- Manage medical surveillance and respirator fit testing programs.
*Training & Culture Building
- Design and deliver comprehensive training programs tailored to job roles, project requirements, and regulatory standards.
- Conduct in-house training (e.g., OSHA HAZWOPER refresher, CPR/First Aid).
- Promote a behavior-based safety culture through employee engagement and leadership.
*Incident Management
- Develop and maintain an incident management system (IMS).
- Lead investigations of incidents and near misses, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
*Hazard Assessment & Control
- Conduct regular audits and risk assessments across offices and project sites.
- Develop hazard control plans and site-specific Health and Safety Plans (HASPs).
- Collaborate with technical teams to address project-specific safety needs.
*Collaboration & Communication
- Partner with senior leadership to integrate safety into business operations.
- Foster open communication and feedback loops for continuous safety improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in health and safety management, preferably in environmental or construction services.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA and other relevant health and environmental regulations.
- OSHA HAZWOPER and First Aid/CPR trainer certifications strongly preferred.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multi-state safety programs.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
- High integrity, accountability, and a proactive leadership style.
