- Lead the development and execution of a consistent, company-wide health and safety program.
- Oversee related programs such as vehicle safety, hazard communication, equipment use, and subcontractor vetting.
- Maintain and update SOPs to reflect best practices and regulatory changes.
- Provide regular safety performance reports and insights to the COO.
- Manage departmental budgets and resource allocation.
- Conduct monitoring for chemical, physical, and biological hazards.
- Manage medical surveillance and respirator fit testing programs.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other applicable regulations.
- Maintain detailed records for training, incidents, audits, and third-party platforms (e.g., Avetta).
- Oversee return-to-work programs and workers compensation documentation.
- Design and deliver tailored training programs based on roles, locations, and project needs.
- Conduct in-house training (e.g., OSHA HAZWOPER, CPR/First Aid).
- Promote a proactive, safety-first culture through employee engagement and leadership.
- Build and manage an incident management system (IMS).
- Lead investigations, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
- Conduct regular audits and risk assessments.
- Develop hazard control plans and site-specific health and safety plans (HASPs).
- Collaborate with technical teams to address project-specific safety needs.
- Partner with senior leadership to embed safety into daily operations.
- Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Streamline feedback systems for near misses, observations, and corrective actions.
- 8+ years of health and safety management experience across multiple states.
- Bachelors degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Health, or related field.
- CSP certification preferred; OSHA HAZWOPER and CPR/First Aid trainer certifications strongly desired.
- Experience in environmental and construction services is highly valued.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and environmental health laws.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects independently and collaboratively.
