The Assistant Superintendent for will be a trusted advisor, collaborating and reporting directly to the Superintendent. This individual will oversee the District's instructional program for early education, elementary, secondary and adult school. The Assistant Superintendent will work directly with building administrators and teachers in planning, organizing, and implementing the instructional program at each school site, and will oversee federal and state programs, district compliance, special education, pupil services, and instructional materials. The Assistant Superintendent will be responsible for developing and leading programs and strategies that foster a diverse, equitable, and inclusive school community.

QUALIFICATIONS
ACADEMIC Administrative Credential authorizing service as a district level administrator. Possession of an earned Master's or higher degree from a recognized and accredited college or university in educational administration or a related field of study.
PROFESSIONAL Five years in a responsible public education administrative, coordination or supervisory position. Experience as a site-based principal who led and worked with diverse age levels and abilities. Experience with both elementary and secondary education. Familiarity with dual language programs highly desired. Multilingual learner or bilingual candidate preferred.
RELATED EXPERIENCE Proven success working flexibly as both an individual contributor and collaborative team member. Experience and training leading racial equity and disability equity initiatives in education organizations. A commitment to implementing and maintaining best practices in inclusion and anti-racist pedagogy.
SELECTION PROCESS
The qualifications of each applicant will be evaluated in a multi-step process using specific criteria. The adopted criteria will be utilized during the application screening, interviewing and final decision-making process. After the application screening is completed, the Cabinet will determine those candidates to be interviewed. Interviews will be conducted in July and finalists may be invited to return for additional interview, including an interview with the Cabinet and the Board of Education member(s). The successful candidate will assume his/her position as soon as a qualified candidate is selected.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
All employment offers are conditional, based upon the successful completion of the following: Fingerprint/background clearance and a tuberculosis clearance. A physical examination clearance is required for certain positions for the district. All candidates with a record of convictions must indicate such in the confidential/legal section of the application, which is attached to the job application. A record of conviction will not automatically disqualify an applicant from employment, but a failure to list all convictions may result in disqualification or dismissal.
