About the Role
As an Infrastructure Engineer specializing in Middleware Messaging, you will play a key role in supporting and optimizing enterprise-scale messaging platforms. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, scalable, and compliant infrastructure solutions. This role involves hands-on engineering, troubleshooting, and strategic planning to support mission-critical systems.
Responsibilities
Design, implement, and maintain middleware messaging environments including IBM MQ, IBM ACE/IIB (Message Broker), Apache Kafka, and Solace.
Perform MQ administration tasks: installation, configuration, patching, compliance, and troubleshooting.
Configure and manage MQ Queue Managers, Clusters, Queues, Channels, Listeners, and Topics.
Analyze and resolve moderately complex infrastructure issues, ensuring system reliability and performance.
Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to meet infrastructure deliverables and compliance standards.
Support incident management processes, including monitoring alerts, triaging issues, and participating in outage calls.
Contribute to large-scale infrastructure planning and risk mitigation initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications
4+ years of experience in Technology Infrastructure Engineering or equivalent through work, military, or education.
Hands-on experience with IBM MQ on platforms such as zOS, zLinux, and AIX.
Familiarity with MQ monitoring tools (e.g., IR360) and incident management systems (e.g., ServiceNow).
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage across all levels of the organization.
Preferred Qualifications
8+ years of experience managing enterprise-scale middleware messaging environments.
Experience with IBM MQ Appliance and automation tools such as Ansible and uDeploy.
Strong understanding of compliance, risk management, and operational best practices.
Experience supporting enterprise environments and handling job failures and batch processing issues.
zOS Mainframe experience is a plus.
Demonstrated leadership in technical or team settings.
