Job Description REPORTS TO: LeadProject Engineer, Mechanical Principal Responsibilities : This positionwill be responsible for all mechanical and structural design activitiesnecessary to support the modification and modernization of electricoverhead cranes for Region Americas. \* Responsible for the ProductLines Legacy EOT and Portal Cranes \* Interpret order documentationincluding detailed customer specifications to determine scope of workand project plan. \* Ability to search company archives to find recordsof legacy equipment. Must be proficient in reading legacy equipmentmechanical and structural drawings. \* Perform engineering tasks usingestablished procedures. Create equipment layouts, undertake allnecessary mechanical and structural calculations to confirm designs andgenerate final mechanical and structural designs. \* Create detail,sub-assembly, assembly, and installation drawings necessary to satisfythe order scope. \* Write detailed work instructions to support fieldinstallation \* Responsible for project planning, scheduling, designexecution, and performance to budget and schedule from inquiry throughstart-up. Qualifications EDUCATION: A Bachelor of Science degree inMechanical or Structural Engineering or related field EXPERIENCE: Aminimum of 5 years of experience with overhead electric cranes orsimilar industrial equipment preferred. A PE license or the ability toobtain licensure is a plus. The ideal candidate should have an excellentunderstanding of machine design and structural engineering practice.Experience in overhead material handling industry is highly preferred.Familiarity with industry specifications including CMAA and ASME B30 isa plus. Knowledge of welding and machining is required OTHERREQUIREMENTS: Excellent verbal and written communication plays a keyrole in this position. Should be proficient with SAP, AutoCAD,Solidworks, and Microsoft Office. Ability to effectively communicatebetween frontline sales, customers, application engineers and projectmanagement. Site visits for application and commissioning require theability to work at heights up to 100 feet off the ground. Travelestimated at 5% to meet with customers, commission equipment, andinspect product at various manufacturing locations.
