ITDIn this role, youll be responsible for the design, layout, and fabrication of traffic control and informational signs for state highways, as well as for projects within our sign and graphics shop .Youll help create a wide variety of signs that keep Idahos roads safe and clearly marked.
Please note: Sign Fabricators in ITDs highway sign and graphics shop frequently work around toxic chemicals, fumes, noise, carpentry dust, power tools, and moving machinery .As such, proper safety gear -including goggles, respirators, face shields, and ear protection-is required at all times.
NOTE+ Operates and maintains PC-based computer-aided design/manufacturing systems for traffic sign fabrication to include various software (Roland Versacamm, Sign Cad, CorelDraw, Flexi-Letter, Flexi-Sign) and database programs, scanners, digitizing tablets, printers and plotters;
+ Lays out and fabricates special and large diagrammatic signs;
+ Uses specialized equipment materials to layout and manufacture stencils and screens for printing:
+ Provides digital proof for customer review and approval.
+ Designs, lays out, and fabricates large, extruded, aluminum interstate and defense highway signs in accordance with federal and state specifications;
+ Designs, lays out, and fabricates a variety of signs for business use in compliance with institutional, state, and federal signage;
