Job Title: Implementation Project Manager
Location: Paramus, NJ
Pay: $30-$40/hour DOE
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and driven Implementation Project Manager to oversee the end-to-end deployment of fiber optic and data center infrastructure projects. This role is critical in ensuring the successful execution of high-performance connectivity solutions across new and existing data center environments. The ideal candidate has strong leadership skills, deep technical knowledge of fiber optics and data center operations, and a proven track record in delivering complex infrastructure projects on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of fiber/data center implementation projects from initiation through delivery.
- Develop detailed project plans, schedules, resource requirements, risk assessments, and budget forecasts.
- Coordinate with internal teams (engineering, construction, operations, NOC) and external vendors to ensure smooth execution.
- Monitor project performance using appropriate tools, reporting on progress, risks, and corrective actions to stakeholders.
- Oversee permitting, site acquisition, civil construction, fiber splicing/testing, and final integration into data center networks.
- Ensure all projects adhere to compliance, safety standards, and SLA requirements.
- Manage change requests, scope adjustments, and troubleshoot project issues in real-time.
- Deliver technical and executive-level reporting, including progress dashboards, documentation, and post-mortems.
- Maintain constant communication with clients and stakeholders to ensure satisfaction and alignment with business goals.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Telecommunications, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of project management experience, with 3+ years specific to fiber infrastructure and/or data center environments.
- Strong knowledge of fiber optic networking, cable routing, splicing, OTDR testing, and data center standards.
- Familiarity with data center architecture (e.g., power, cooling, rack deployment, network cabling).
- PMP or equivalent certification preferred.
- Proficiency in project management tools (MS Project, Smartsheet, or similar).
- Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Working knowledge of permitting, regulatory compliance, and safety protocols.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience managing large-scale deployments for hyperscale or colocation data centers.
- Understanding of DWDM, OSP/ISP fiber installation practices, and structured cabling standards (TIA/EIA).
- Familiarity with ITIL, Agile/Scrum methodologies.
