Project Manager (Earthscapes)

JOB PURPOSE / POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee landscape construction projects across parks, roadways, and commercial developments. This role is responsible for leading all aspects of project execution-ensuring safety, quality, schedule, and budget targets are met. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with strong communication skills, technical knowledge of civil and landscape construction, and a commitment to delivering high-quality, sustainable outdoor spaces.

DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Leadership & Execution

• Manage all phases of landscape construction projects from pre-construction through closeout.
• Lead internal crews and subcontractors to deliver projects on time, within scope, and within budget.
• Oversee construction activities, including grading, irrigation, hardscape, plantings, and site furnishings.

Scheduling & Coordination

• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules.
• Coordinate closely with owners, architects, engineers, municipalities, and utility providers.
• Organize and lead project meetings with field and office teams.

Budget & Cost Control

• Create and manage budgets, forecasts, and cost tracking reports.
• Approve vendor invoices, subcontractor pay apps, and material orders.
• Mitigate risks and resolve issues that impact profitability or timelines.

Quality & Safety

• Enforce site-specific safety protocols and ensure compliance with OSHA and company standards.
• Ensure workmanship aligns with contract documents, specifications, and industry best practices.
• Conduct regular site visits and inspections.

Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain accurate project documentation including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and daily reports.
• Provide regular updates to internal leadership and clients.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED (KSA's, Education, YOE)

• 5+ years of experience in landscape construction project management (parks, roadways, or commercial work preferred).
• Strong knowledge of landscape construction materials, methods, and equipment.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Proficient in all Microsoft Office Suite programs.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

• Proficient in scheduling software (MS Project, Primavera, or equivalent) and construction management platforms (e.g., Procore).
• Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORKING CONDITIONS (environment, noise level, public interactions)

• Frequent travel to active job sites throughout the region.
• Ability to walk, stand, and navigate uneven terrain in various weather conditions.
• Occasional evening or weekend work depending on project schedules.
• Lift, push or pull objects up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to wear required PPE on job sites.
