Preferred Qualifications Position Summary
CAES is seeking a dynamic individual for the position of Facilities Project Manager.
Reporting directly to the Director of Facilities Planning & Real Property, the Facilities Project Manager will be responsible for the active management of building facilities, infrastructure, equipment for the College of Agricultural & Environmental Sciences for their Research, Instruction, and Extension missions. The Facilities Project Manager will take a proactive and planned approach to managing new construction, renovations, maintenance, and repairs in order to minimize disruptions. Key responsibilities include managing renovation/construction projects and research equipment maintenance and installation.
This position involves regular interface with CAES end-users, OUA, FMD, ESD, and URAR (University Research Animal Resources). The individual in this role will be well-versed in building systems (particularly mechanical, electrical, and plumbing) and will establish and maintain a close working relationship with Finance & Administration (particularly FMD and OUA), as well as partnering with contractors and vendors to maintain and renovate CAES facilities. Additionally, the Facilities Project Manager will be engaged in CAES projects both within the Athens Clarke County area and at the various CAES properties across the state (satellite campuses in Tifton and Griffin, 4-H Centers, as well as Research Education Centers across the state). Travel to these various locations will occur on a regular basis.

Physical Demands
- Standing, walking, climbing, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, carrying up to 50 lbs.
- May need to climb stairs, negotiate occasional awkward work locations and paths of travel, and work in a variety of physical environments including weather extremes, chemical/biological/radiological labs and animal care and use facilities.
- Driving as needed to perform job duties.

Planning, Design, and Construction Administration
Assist CAES facilities team with the managing and planning efforts for
Renovations
New facilities
New equipment/casework/furniture installations
Utility upgrades
Master planning
Manage planning for preventative maintenance
Buildings and infrastructure
Develop comprehensive plan for addressing deferred maintenance including development of budget estimates to assist such planning efforts
Agricultural and Research Equipment such as:
Growth chambers
Autoclaves
Pivot irrigation systems
Serve as CAES Representative for project managed by OUA or FMD
Represent CAES at design or Owner/Architect/Contractor (OAC) meetings
Provide feedback to FMD, OUA, design professionals, and/or contractors
Coordination of site visits and gathering of information from college end-users and provide to design and construction team to assist their efforts
Advocate for college interests whenever needed with OUA and FMD
Update CAES leadership on project progress
Review and comment on engineering and design professional drawings and specs
Includes navigation of Bluebeam software
Track and maintain database of facilities projects
Manage projects directly when using the "Designated Local Facility Manager" (DLFM) process for CAES projects that fall outside of the Athens main campus where OUA or FMD may not be available to lead.
Meet with end users in college, solicit and listen to feedback, assess issues, and provide guidance on best courses of action.
Identify and manage regulatory requirements (FPIFS, GEPAS, etc.)
Manage consultants (architects, landscape architects, engineers, test and balance firms, hazardous materials testing firms, etc.)
Manage contractors, tradesmen, vendors, etc. to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and per plans to owner's satisfaction.

- Provide ongoing support to CAES facilities
- Coordinate prompt diagnosis and repair of building systems
- Coordinate prompt diagnosis and repair of equipment
- Ensure corrective actions meet functional and programmatic needs
Percentage of time 25 Duties/Responsibilities
CAES Internal Facilities Resource
- Work with departments, centers, institutes, farms, and individual faculty and staff to help guide and navigate FMD, OUA, ESD, and other F&A rules and procedures
- Provide information about available options for departmental facilities needs
- Interface with FMD, OUA, ESD, and F&A to advocate for user needs
- Assist CAES Facilities team with funding decisions for numerous MRR yearly projects to include soliciting information for potential projects, building framework and budget for potential projects, assessing impact of projects, and providing CAES administration the information they need to prioritize MRR requests
- Serve as primary or secondary Building Safety and Security Representative (BSSR) for CAES facilities where appropriate
- Assist users with FMD work orders
- Place work orders and direct work to appropriate shop, coordinate work with end users, and follow up with shops and end users to ensure that work is completed to satisfaction and lessons learned are acquired

- Provide assistance when needed to ensure safe and effective operations of CAES facilities
- Inform CAES Facilities Director of administrative level concerns
- Work with CAES Business Office to create budgets for planning and/or maintenance purposes
- Create and submit space requests, and help track space allocation to assist with issues pertaining to space management of college facilities
- Work with end users and FMD Support Services to manage moves
- Coordinate with CAES OIT for technological maintenance and improvements
- Access UGA databases to acquire maps, building plans, and facilities data when needed
- Manage facilities email account
- Coordinate CAES fleet management as needed
