Are you passionate about turning plans into real-world projects that improve how people live, move, and connect? The Blueprint Intergovernmental Agency, part of the PLACE Division, is looking for a dedicated Construction Coordinator to lead the implementation of major public infrastructure projects as part of our Capital Improvement Plan.

What You'll Do:

In this role, you'll take the lead in organizing, planning, and managing complex construction projects from start to finish. You'll serve as the go-to expert overseeing all phases of construction-handling project logistics, ensuring compliance with administrative requirements, and driving progress forward.

You'll coordinate closely with construction contractors, consultant inspectors, and technical support teams-often including engineers, architects, and outside consultants-to ensure that each project stays on track, meets our high-quality standards, and reflects the goals of the Blueprint program.

Minimum Training & Experience

Do you possess a bachelor's degree in building construction, architecture, environmental science, engineering or a related field?

Do you have 4 years of professional experience in construction management, facilities construction, or construction project development?

or

Do you have a High School Diploma or GED AND have at least eight (8) years of professional experience in construction management, facilities construction, or construction project development?

Salary Range

$24.1863 to $65.6314/hourly. Hiring rate generally will not exceed $43.0928/hour

Driver's License Requirements

Must possess a valid Class E State driver's license at the time of appointment

Additional Information

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the organization, planning, and management of infrastructure projects from design through construction under the Blueprint Infrastructure Capital Improvement Plan.
  • Serve as Construction Coordinator for complex and diverse capital improvement projects.
  • Act as the owner's representative, overseeing consultants, contractors, and engineering/architectural teams to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Develop and implement project schedules and ensure alignment with approved plans.
  • Prepare and manage the Request for Qualifications (RFQ) and Request for Proposals (RFP) processes for acquiring professional and construction services.
  • Supervise and evaluate the performance of consultants and contractors working on major capital projects.
  • Review and approve contract pay requests, change orders, and ensure compliance with all contractual obligations.
  • Monitor contractor adherence to MWSBE (Minority, Women, and Small Business Enterprises), Davis-Bacon Act, and other relevant federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Deliver oral and written presentations to the Blueprint Director on project updates and key milestones.
  • Support the Design and Construction Manager on high-profile projects and departmental initiatives as needed.
  • Utilize vehicles for site inspections, meetings, and other work-related travel.
