Schedule: Monday - Friday 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM (flexibility in start time)

The Shop Foreman oversees the daily operations of our maintenance facilities and is responsible for managing service staff, ensuring high-quality maintenance and repairs, optimizing shop efficiency, and maintaining safety and compliance practices and standards.
  • Oversee daily shop activities, including managing repair orders, monitoring work progress, and ensuring timely completion of service.
  • Oversee advanced diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on tractors and trailers.
  • Serve as the subject-matter expert for complex technical issues within the shop department.
  • Assist with maintenance schedules and prioritizing repairs to minimize vehicle downtime.
  • Conduct quality control checks on repairs performed by team members to ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.
  • Train and mentor technicians, fostering skill development across the department.
  • Assist with implementing industry best practices and emerging technologies
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies while handling tools and chemicals.

Seeking an individual who has:
  • Mechanical knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Technical knowledge of electronic equipment, computer hardware, and software used to diagnose vehicle issues.
  • A solid grasp of local, state, and federal DOT laws, policies, and procedures for protecting people, data, property, and institutions.
  • Familiarity with transportation principles and methods for moving goods by road, including the relative costs and benefits.
  • Time management skills for self and others.
  • The ability to communicate with other tractor shop employees and supervisors to rectify problems such as missing parts and time constraints.

Education/Experience:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent and Diesel Engine Specialist or related degree from a secondary institution.
  • Five years of experience is required.
  • Commercial Drivers License is preferred but not necessary.
