Position Overview:
The Plumbing Foreperson is responsible for overseeing and executing all aspects of plumbing installation and maintenance on yachts and marine vessels. This includes fresh water, grey/black water, fuel, and HVAC-related piping systems. The role requires strong technical knowledge, leadership skills, and the ability to coordinate with various trades to ensure quality workmanship and timely delivery.

Key Responsibilities:
Lead and supervise the marine plumbing team, including assigning tasks and ensuring adherence to project timelines and specifications
Read and interpret blueprints, system schematics, and installation drawings
Install, test, and troubleshoot plumbing systems including potable water, fuel, bilge, and sanitation systems
Ensure compliance with marine codes, safety regulations, and classification society requirements (e.g., ABYC, Transport Canada)
Coordinate with engineering, electrical, mechanical, and carpentry departments to ensure smooth integration of systems
Maintain inventory of plumbing materials and coordinate ordering with procurement as needed
Perform quality control inspections and provide technical guidance to apprentices and junior tradespeople
Participate in sea trials and commissioning of systems as required
Provide input on system design improvements and installation efficiency
Report progress and issues to supervisors and contribute to project meetings

Qualifications:
5+ years of marine plumbing or related experience, with at least 2 years in a lead or supervisory role
Strong understanding of marine systems and regulatory requirements
Ability to read technical drawings and specifications
Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, production-driven environment
Marine industry experience (yachts, commercial vessels, or shipbuilding) preferred
Plumbing certification or marine systems training (ABYC, Red Seal Plumber, etc.) an asset
Strong computer skills and a willingness to learn new software and digital tools as needed for project tracking, inventory, and communication
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams
