Purchasing Agent
Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Agent to manage the procurement of materials, equipment, services, and supplies essential to our operations. This role plays a key part in ensuring timely and cost-effective purchasing while maintaining strong vendor relationships and supporting internal teams.
Responsibilities
+ Evaluate and process purchase requests submitted by various departments.
+ Communicate with suppliers to gather details on pricing, product specifications, availability, and delivery timelines.
+ Check inventory levels to confirm whether existing stock meets current needs.
+ Assess market trends and pricing to estimate costs and ensure competitive purchasing.
+ Generate and issue purchase orders to approved vendors.
+ Maintain accurate records of purchases, transfers, pricing, delivery schedules, and inventory updates.
+ Calculate total expenditures for procured items and services.
+ Analyze supplier quotes and delivery terms to select the most suitable vendors or award contracts.
+ Monitor and follow up on order status to ensure timely delivery and resolve any delays.

+ Experience in the conveyor industry is preferred but not required
+ Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
+ Experience with MS Office products like MS Excel, Word, and Outlook
+ Mechanical aptitude: understanding of reducers, conveyors, motors, etc.
+ Experience with File Pro or Oracle is a plus
Work Environment
The role is primarily onsite with potential for hybrid arrangements. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with flexibility.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $33.00/hr.
