Hours for this position are 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Also, will be on call' for the general maintenance shop on a rotating basis that will include weekends. The responsibilities of this position include but not limited to: - Performs electrical duties of journeyman electrician such as installing conduit and boxes, replacing lighting fixtures, changing receptacles and switches. - Performs regular scheduled preventative maintenance on air handling equipment. Includes inspection and repair of motors, valves, coils and controls. - Performs testing and troubleshooting of low voltage control wiring for building mechanical systems, dietary equipment, laundry equipment, and other associated systems. - Performs inspections of electrical devices for residents to ensure they are safe. - Performs inspection and minor repair of resident electric beds. - Inspects dampers, blowers, motors, pumps, pneumatic and electrical controls, valves, switches, for proper operation. - Maintains proper documentation on preventative maintenance software system for each unit, insuring history for use in evaluating operations, parts inventory, and future replacement life cycle. - Install, connect, troubleshoot resident T.V. and cable for new and existing residents. - Help other trades, ie plumbers, HVAC technicians, maintenance repairers with related work. - Must maintain an active journeyman's license (or higher) with the State of Iowa. Minimum Qualification Requirements Applicants must meet at least one of the following minimum requirements to qualify for positions in this job classification: + Three years of full-time work experience in skilled electrical work in the construction or repair of residential or commercial buildings. + Successful completion of a standard electrician program at an accredited trade school. + A total of three years of education and/or full-time experience (as described in number one), where one semester of an approved trade school electrician program is equivalent to six months of full-time experience. + Successful completion of three years of an approved electrician apprenticeship program. + Current, continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes two years of full-time work as a Trades Helper which involved electrical duties. ( Additional Qualification Requirements + Must be capable of operating forklift and other material handling equipment, and other heavy mobile equipment as necessary such as scissor lifts, manlifts, and other aerial platforms. + Must be willing to work weekends and after hours performing assigned tasks, and must be willing to respond to on call requirements on weekends and after hours. + Must obtain and maintain a valid Iowa Driver's License. + Certified Licensed Electrician is preferred.
