Job Summary/Objective:

Manages the day to day activities of a team of technicians in the construction, repair and maintenance of macro, small cell, new site builds and EV charging stations. Provides overall guidance to the team while also personally performing both routine and advanced construction activities.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Partner with customer’s subcontractors and other 3rd parties to construct macro, small cell, new site builds, EV charging stations.
  • Oversee and direct site preparation and completion of civil scope of work
  • Utilizes equipment to perform the duties of clearing and grading, excavation, and building at construction sites. Digs pads and prepare sub-grades related to structural/flatwork concrete, trenches related to equipment pads, laying conduit for underground utilities. Extensive foundations prep and install, fencing, and landscaping. Wors with High voltage meter gang centers, grounding systems which include MEG testing, the setting of AC/DC cabinets, generators and other comparable equipment.
  • Procure materials and maintain tools, truck and equipment to ensure adequate supply for daily work assignments
  • Utilize PPE in compliance with EHS requirements and industry standards. Ensures team members comply with requirements and standards. Perform work in a safe manner and complies with all established company safety policies and procedures. Complete daily equipment safety inspections and maintenance checks.
  • Processes site documents and interprets construction drawings.
  • Maintain daily paperwork required for the site and the crew. Compile all site-specific closeout documentation for team work effort per carrier requirements and upload closeout documentation to customer interfaces.
  • Accurately complete all required company documentation for each assignment according to established company standards and procedures (i.e timesheets, truck report, expense report)

Minimum Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Driver’s License and ability to fulfil DOT req.
  • 5 years of telecommunications construction experience
  • Experienced with careful digging near/around existing underground infrastructure
  • OSHA 30
  • Proficient in using Microsoft office suite, and comfortable using various software

Preferred and Additional Eligibility Qualifications:

  • Must be able to read construction drawings and perform related duties according to the plan designs and specifications.
  • Possess expert technical skills and knowledge associated with the construction, repair and maintenance of towers and accompanying structures. This includes advanced knowledge and experience with carrier equipment, high level of tool proficiency to complete site to customer standards, ability to complete rigging plans. Possesses certifications in climbing/rescue and rigging.
  • Expert level of knowledge with grading, clearing, concrete, rebar, underground excavation, electrical and grounding systems
  • Maintain currency on required certifications and training requirements

Direct/Indirect Supervisory Responsibility:

  • Provide day to day leadership, guidance, and actively train/promote learning to all crew members.
  • Partners with operations manager to set goals for performance and deadlines in ways that comply with company and clients plans and vision.
  • Organizes/oversees workflow and ensuring that employees understand their duties or delegated tasks.
  • Partner with EHS team to maintain a safe work environment at all times

Work Environment/Physical Demands/Travel Required:

  • Ability to work in all weather conditions except for unsafe or extreme weather conditions.
  • Travel can be required more than 50% of the time
  • Ability to carry loads in excess of 50 pounds.
  • Operates construction, excavation, and hauling equipment including backhoes, skid-steers, mini-excavators, gradalls, asphalt rollers, and dump trucks.
