Shop Manager/Fabricator

Busy commercial glass and glazing construction company located in northern NJ is seeking an experienced full-time Shop Manager. Experience in shop management is required. Knowledge of Aluminum Storefront Fabrication is a plus but would be willing to train a qualified candidate. Applicant must be motivated, organized, and detail oriented.

Daily Shop Management Responsibilities

-Supervise daily activities of the shop, including fabrication, quality control, inventory, organization and space management, deliveries, logistics and maintenance of warehouse.
-Oversee fabrication to meet the demands of the Project Managers and manage the flow and quality of work to maximize efficiency and minimize overtime.
-Inspect equipment, tools and machinery regularly, and oversee general maintenance as needed.
-Ensure Warehouse Space is clean and organized.
-Maintain vehicles ensuring inspections and registrations are current and report any repairs required.
-Oversee and manage the loading of materials and transportation to jobsites.
-Receive deliveries and label packing slips.
-Fabricating aluminum storefront materials experience not required; we are willing to train.
- Must have forklift certification

Fabrication Responsibility

-Assembly of Aluminum Entrances
-Cutting and Assembly of Aluminum Storefront
-Ability to lift at least 75 lbs
-General knowledge of blueprints (Willing to train)
-All other duties as assigned

Requirements

-Must speak, read, and understand English to understand and communicate paperwork and labels.
-Ability to read and interpret basic mathematical measurements and effectively read and use a tape measure.
-Must be able to work overtime as needed.
-Must be able to multitask
