SUMMARY:
The Senior Construction Manager will oversee and manage complex construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role involves leading project teams, coordinating with clients and subcontractors, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Project Management: Lead and manage multiple construction projects simultaneously, ensuring adherence to project schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor project managers, site supervisors, and other project staff, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Client Relations: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing concerns, providing regular project updates, and ensuring client satisfaction.
- Budget Management: Develop and manage project budgets, monitor expenditures, and implement cost-control measures to ensure financial objectives are met.
- Contract Negotiation: Negotiate contracts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers, ensuring favorable terms and conditions.
- Risk Management: Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impact.
- Quality Assurance: Implement and oversee quality control processes to ensure all work meets company and industry standards.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all projects comply with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
- Reporting: Prepare and present regular project reports to senior management, highlighting progress, challenges, and solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and manage diverse teams, with strong decision-making and problem-solving capabilities.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, subcontractors, and team members.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of construction methodologies, project management software, and financial management.
- Certifications: Professional certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or CCM (Certified Construction Manager) are highly desirable.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, or a related field; a master's degree is preferred.
A minimum of 10 years of experience in construction management, with at least 5 years in a senior management role overseeing large-scale projects.
CERTIFICATES and LICENSES:
- Professional certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or CCM (Certified Construction Manager) are highly desirable.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions, correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete and abstract variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
