Actalent is seeking a Lead Scheduler to work for a Shipbuilder Company that is located in Quebec for a long-term opportunity

Location: Quebec City

Description

The lead scheduler will be working directly with the Project Control Manager and have a Scheduler reporting to him. The scope of work / responsibilities for this role are listed below.

  • Create, monitor, and analyze project schedules in accordance to approved project baselines
  • Deliver progress and performance reports as required by the project/contract
  • Provide analytical support as needed to support contingency, progress and trend reporting, mitigation of delays and threats to the project schedule
  • Develop program/project schedules, including work breakdown structures, key project milestones, and project reporting baselines
  • Follow and adhere to corporate scheduling processes and procedures
  • Analyze possible schedule issues related to change of management and identify potential claims
  • Create schedules for new builds as well as servicing of current products.
  • Support the development of the master schedule using Primavera P6.
  • Create WBS (Work Breakdown Structures) with detailed schedule plan.
  • Coordinate with multiple stakeholders, receive status reports and update the schedules.
  • Facilitate meetings with several stakeholders and follow-up on action items.
  • Manage project schedules to ensure deadlines are met
  • Review incoming change orders
  • Evaluate the effect to the schedule due to change orders.
  • Provide oversight to sub-contractors schedules
  • Provide oversight to the work completed by sub-contractors
  • Review subcontractors WBS and ensure alignment with Davie schedules
  • Review planned vs actual budget variance due to scheduling changes and report to client.
  • Escalate any scheduling or deadline concerns to the client
  • Serve as the scheduling primary point of contact for project stakeholders, including Clients, vendors, and internal teams to facilitate clear and effective communication.
  • Document meeting minutes with detailed status reports, action items and timelines
  • Provide regular updates on project status, milestones, and deliverables, and address stakeholder feedback and concerns promptly.
  • Act as a point of contact for inquiries and requests related to project activities, providing timely and accurate information as needed.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelors degree (doesn't have to be engineering)
  • Industry Experience: 8 years relevant experience (Construction, Shipyards, Ship Building. Oil & Gas) The construction related experience must include managing multiple different trades.
  • Experience documenting meeting notes and presenting info up the management chain
  • Primavera v6 experience
  • High level of communication
  • Experience managing / leading a team

Experience Level: Expert Level

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $65.00/hr.
