Painter Helper Job Description Join a dynamic service and repair company specializing in pumps and rotating equipment as a Painter Helper. This entry-level position allows you to start as a painter helper and shop assistant while gaining exposure to other trades such as mechanics and machining. You will be responsible for prepping paint jobs, which includes cleaning exterior parts, taping down, and mixing paint with pre-determined ratios. Additionally, you will use a pneumatic air spray gun to paint industrial pumps, assist other trades with tasks such as sandblasting, cleaning, learning, and tapping holes. Responsibilities Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, taping, and mixing paint. Use pneumatic air spray gun to paint industrial pumps. Assist other departments with sandblasting, cleaning, and tapping holes. Learn and support other trades, including mechanics and machining. Essential Skills Mechanical aptitude with at least 2 years of experience. Paint preparation experience. Experience using paint guns. Ability to assist other departments in the shop. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in industrial painting. Looking to gain experience in mechanics or machining. Extensive mechanical aptitude. Night shift runs from Monday to Friday, 3:30 PM to 2:30 AM, and Saturday from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM, with 2 breaks (paid) and lunch (unpaid), plus a 10% shift differential. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of South Houston, Texas. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.00/hr.
