**Responsibilities:**

- Receives supervision and direction from the Community Development

Director.

- Conducts field inspections on residential and commercial structures

for building, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.

- Reviews construction plans, including structural calculations and

specifications for conformance to\

City codes.

- Prepares and processes plan review comments and inspection

correction notices.

- Performs data entry into automated records system. Provides

information and assistance to homeowners, architects, engineers, and

contactors applying for building permits; reviews submitted

information.

- Conducts investigations and writes reports of code violations and

code complaints from the public.

- Conducts work stop orders on projects that are on a code violation

or without a building permit; writes reports and\

performs follow-up.

- Responds to customer needs via phone or in-person regarding code

questions or construction requirements; performs various office

functions.

- Consults and coordinates with other City\

departments and/or external public agencies as necessary.

- Performs other duties as required or assigned.
