COMMERCIAL CONSTRUCTION ESTIMATOR - CANONSBURG, PA

Position Overview: The Estimator will be responsible for preparing comprehensive and competitive proposals for both private and public construction projects, including those in the educational, institutional, hospitality, multi-family, and healthcare sectors. This role involves performing project take-offs, pricing materials and labor, and creating preliminary budgets.

Key Responsibilities:

• Produce and deliver timely, accurate, and comprehensive proposals.
• Prepare and document quantity take-offs for materials and pricing.
• Review and compare accurate job costs; perform job site visits as needed.
• Evaluate bid documents and request material quotes.
• Understand all pertinent bid documents and qualify subcontractor proposals.
• Communicate effectively with the Estimating Department, Project Managers, Architects, and Engineers.
• Assist in the pre-construction process upon project award and start-up.
• Qualifications:
• Experience in hard bid, conceptual, and negotiated estimating.
• Knowledge of on-screen takeoff systems.
• Familiarity with the local subcontract market.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Project or similar scheduling software, with the ability to develop project schedules.
• Minimum of 4 years of estimating experience required.
• Strong PC skills, including proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, Microsoft Project
• Strong negotiating skills.
• BS degree in Construction or Engineering is preferable but not required.
