Architectural Drafter
Job Description

The Architectural Drafter is responsible for preparing submittal drawings for approval and fabrication of architectural products. You will collaborate closely with the Engineering Team on design issues and provide support to Sales, Marketing, and Production Teams by interpreting design concepts and coordinating detailed drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare submittal drawings of architectural products for approval and fabrication.
  • Collaborate directly with the Engineering Team on design issues.
  • Support Sales, Marketing, and Production Teams to interpret design concepts and determine the nature and type of required detailed drawings.
  • Confirm dimensions of parts, materials to be used, and the relation of one part to another within custom assemblies.
  • Revise drawings based on redlines, customer changes, field dimensions, engineering calculations, or internal value engineering/fabrication changes.
  • Maintain updated drawings with changes arising from fabrication.
  • Serve both internal and external customers effectively.
  • Attend company and team meetings, participate in conference calls, and engage in job-specific meetings.
  • Participate in business process redesign initiatives, develop standard work practices, standard work instructions, and contribute ideas for continuous improvements.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
  • Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Strong understanding of architectural design and drafting.
  • Experience with construction documents and CAD.
  • Mechanical and architectural design knowledge.
  • Ability to prepare submittal drawings for various architectural metal products.
  • Understanding of structural steel, curtainwall/storefront, precast concrete, and metal paneling.
  • Capability to interpret specifications, sketches, and job site photos.
  • Knowledge of product assemblies and building details.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • 2-5 years of experience in architectural products manufacturing and design.
  • Knowledge of aluminum extrusions and sheet metal components.
  • Understanding of fabrication requirements and processes of metal products.
  • Experience with CNC programming.
  • Proficiency in Inventor, Solidworks, or other 3-D software.
  • Self-motivated and a problem solver.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and adhere to schedules.
Work Environment

This position is based in an office environment within a manufacturing setting for metal products designed in-house. You will work closely with various teams to ensure seamless design and production processes.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $27.00/hr.
