We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Superintendent to join our growing team and lead the successful execution of complex construction projects.
About the Role:
As Superintendent, you will be the on-site leader, responsible for the overall planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects. You will play a crucial role in ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards while maintaining a safe and productive work environment.
About the Project:
We are looking for an experienced Superintendent to join our Caribbean team. The project location is on the island of Barbuda, located in the country of Antigua and Barbuda. The project is a very high end private home on the island. Housing, meal allowance, and travel will be provided.
Responsibilities:
Oversee all on-site activities, including scheduling, subcontractor management, material procurement, and quality control.Develop and maintain a detailed project schedule, ensuring milestones are met and potential delays are proactively addressed.Manage and mentor a team of assistant superintendents, foremen, and craft workers.Enforce strict adherence to safety regulations and company policies, fostering a culture of safety consciousness on site.Collaborate effectively with project managers, engineers, architects, and subcontractors to ensure seamless project execution.Proactively identify and resolve construction challenges, minimizing disruptions and maximizing efficiency.Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality, and safety.Manage project budgets and track costs, ensuring projects remain financially viable.Maintain accurate project documentation, including daily reports, progress photos, and change orders.Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 7 years of experience as a Construction Superintendent, with a proven track record of successfully managing complex projects.Extensive knowledge of construction methods, materials, and best practices.Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate teams.Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with the capacity to handle challenging situations.Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, specifications, and contracts.Solid understanding of construction scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).OSHA 30-hour certification preferred.Strong commitment to safety and quality.Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a related field is a plus.International / Caribbean Experience a plus.
