This community's appeal continues to grow as exciting new developments are underway near the AdventHealth Minneola campus.
AdventHealth Minneola's 80-bed hospital will bring inpatient care to the growing population of South Lake County. Spanning approximately 204,000 square feet, the hospital will include an emergency department; full-service imaging; five operating suites; endoscopy services; outpatient laboratory; heart catheterization labs; critical care and general medical/surgical rooms. We are proud to be delivering clinical solutions for the mind, body and spirit in the Minneola community.
The role youll contribute:
The Construction Tradesman 2 repairs, renovates and constructs clinical areas and non-clinical areas within the hospital and hospital-owned properties, under the direction of the ODC Senior Project Manager and/or the Campus Facilities Director. Under supervision performs routine preventive maintenance and emergency repairs on patient beds, nurse call systems, plumbing, electrical, HVAC systems, elevators, tube system, telephones, and the power plant systems. Also performs minor building maintenance that may include, painting, wallpaper, sheet rockwork, flooring repair, cabinet repairs, and assemble equipment and furniture. Must be available to take call when requested. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all
The value youll bring to the team:
Utilizes knowledge of blueprints, job specific specifications and follows Construction Management department standards.
Assists the Senior Project Manager or others as requested by Facilities Director, as first responder for all AdventHealth campuses, housing and office properties in the assessment and remediation of building envelope issues. This includes diagnosing water intrusion problems, the patching / repair of roofing and ceiling leaks, and if needed, the supervision of outside contractors.
Completes all assigned tasks in a professional manner following acceptable industry codes (ADA, OSHA, ICRA and other regulatory agencies), without the need of constant supervision or callbacks for the same problems. Cleans area upon completion of task, returning area to acceptable condition.
Demolishes drywall, ceilings, flooring and other structures as required. Lays out, frames, installs and finishes drywall according to plans. Installs acoustical and drywall ceilings and partitions.
Preps floor surfaces and installs floor base, vinyl, carpet, and/or ceramic tile flooring. Utilizes power equipment such as drills and saws and other common construction tools to complete tasks.
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences youll need to succeed :
High School Grad or Equiv Preferred
7 Related Experience Required
Knowledge of AHCA, OSHA and other regulatory agency regulations, ICRA requirements, as well as local and State ordinances relating to Healthcare construction
Must be able to lift 50 pounds, climb ladders and go into confined spaces
Cross-trained skill-mix to perform minor construction tasks as requested
Ability to operate the Scissor Lift, Boom Lift and/or forklift as assigned
AdventHealth established construction specifications
Forklift and Electric Pallet Jack certification (FKLT) Preferred
Valid Florida Drivers License, Class E Upon Hire Required
Heavy Equipment or High Lift Certification Upon Hire Preferred
