Under general supervision, plan and formulate production schedules to conform to master schedules. Organize procedures for a specific allocation of time, and select method of manufacture to meet shipping commitments and inventory forecasts. Act as a liaison between production, engineering, purchasing and sales to address and resolve problems. Schedule the most economical procedures and equipment utilization. Monitor production progress, material inventories, and other factors affecting schedules. Revise schedules and issue change orders as needed.
- Set up daily schedules, prioritized based on delivery expectations and material availability, by utilizing equipment and capacities in optimal fashion. This may require interaction with manufacturing team leads or operators
- Review past-due orders and react quickly to changing schedules on a daily basis, investigating the root causes and updating all stakeholders
- Act as Customer Service to all internal buyers, reviewing expedite requests and availability dates, and communicating professionally and in a timely manner
- Work with the Shipping department on critical orders that require same-day processing
- Support the Supply Chain team through product changes, and R&D with new product developments and service orders.
- Be able to back up other Supply Chain functions, such as Customer Service and Purchasing, either in a temporary or permanent capacity
- Assist/manage Inventory Control functions, such as cycle counting, physical inventory counting, expired materials management, inventory value to target levels and others as come up.
- Create/Run daily reports & review with cross functional teams.
- Other duties as assigned.
