The overall function of this position is to build, repair and maintain the districts facilities including rest areas, buildings, operator houses and other timber and metal structures and to work as lead worker in the absence of the foreman.

Minimum QualificationsOne year of the required experience for the following minimum qualifications must have been on-the-job experience: Three years of experience or training in the carpentry trade.

Job Duties and Other Information70% Leads a crew of carpenters and/or trades apprentices in the construction and maintenance of all district facilities. Includes rough and trim carpentry, roofing, flooring, framing, foundations and incidental general carpentry skills.
20% Builds and installs custom desks and furniture for facilities. Remodeling of office spaces including moving walls, windows, flooring and incidental work.
5% Acts as lead worker in the absence of the Foreman. Trains subordinate workers in the carpentry trade.
5% May be required to perform other duties as necessary including, but not limited to, emergency disaster support activities.

This position is located in District 03/Unit 701 of the Department of Transportation and Development and reports directly to a Maintenance Foreman.
