Commercial and residential construction company needs a Logistics and Purchasing Manager to join its growing business. Plenty of opportunity for growth. Please respond to this post with cover letter and resume.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Source materials and contractors for each project.
Develop network of vendors and service contractors to facilitate timely construction and to ensure costs remain within budget.
Thoroughly understand projects phases and deadlines, material lead times and subcontractor availability.
Negotiate pricing and delivery schedules with vendors. Expedite deliveries when necessary.
Ensure timely delivery of materials.
Manage material and equipment inventory to ensure appropriate levels.
Coordinate movement and be accountable for whereabouts of company tools and equipment.

REQUIREMENTS:
Must have at least 5 years purchasing experience in commercial and residential construction industry in NYC market
with thorough knowledge of construction materials and tools
Must have an expansive knowledge of construction material vendors / stores in NYC area.
Detail-oriented, highly motivated with the ability to effectively manage time and to meet specific deadlines.
Excellent organizational skills are a must. Will be required to support multiple projects and manage priorities and deadlines.
Strong ability to read blueprints and architectural drawings.
Must have sound negotiating skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Power Point, Word, Excel)
Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
Team player with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines, goals, and objectives.
