Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of electrical equipment design for FACTS devices, including Fixed Series Capacitors and Synchronous Condensers.
  • Develop equipment studies, equipment specifications, issue material purchase requests, and evaluate vendor quotations for FACTS equipment including capacitors, arresters, reactors, rotating equipment, high voltage circuit breakers, power transformers, high voltage cable, and protection and control systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including control engineers, design engineers, and technical project managers, to ensure the successful project execution.
  • Conduct system modeling, simulation, and analysis to optimize electrical design and improve system performance.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and support their professional development.
  • Participate in the testing and validation of FACTS systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Stay current with the latest advancements in FACTS systems engineering and power systems technology.
  • Prepare technical documentation, including test plans, training, and user manuals.
  • Support business development activities by providing technical expertise and contributing to proposal development.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering, or Master's Degree and 2 years FACTS experience
  • Strong knowledge of substation design, power systems, and experience using IEEE, IEC, ANSI, NEC, and NESC standards and codes.
  • Proficiency in software tools such as Word, Excel, Windchill Imagine, Tableau, ATP and Python.
  • Experience with control systems, equipment schematics, installation, field-testing and commissioning of HV equipment, including required safe work habits
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think analytically and strategically.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading and managing engineering projects.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus.

The salary range for this position is 88,600.00 - 118,100.00 - 147,600.00 USD Annual. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for a performance bonus.
