About the Role:
We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Project Estimator to join our growing team in Vancouver. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for custom builds, renovations, and commercial projects, helping ensure our proposals are competitive, thorough, and aligned with project goals. The candidate for this role will work closely with our Senior Project Estimator and Principal.
Key Responsibilities:
Review project documentation to fully understand scope, requirements, and objectives
Identify and apply appropriate metrics and methodologies to generate accurate cost estimates
Conduct site visits, arrange inspections, and vendor meetings to gather critical project information
Prepare detailed project estimates, including quantity take-offs, pricing, and supporting documentation for internal review
Analyse historical and current data to produce cost forecasts and support budget planning
Perform ongoing risk assessments related to trade performance, pricing volatility, and scheduling
Prepare and submit complete bid packages and estimate reports to project stakeholders and clients
Manage the tendering process, including trade qualification, scope preparation, and comparative analysis of trade proposals
Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, architects, and other project partners
Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years of experience as Project Estimator for custom homes and renovations within the residential sector of the construction industry
Proven track record in successfully estimating residential, commercial, and/or institutional projects
Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and construction processes in British Columbia
Strong leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent grasp reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications
Excel at communication and problem solving with Architects and Designers
Reliable, self-motivated, and deadline-driven with strong attention to detail
Experience with project management tools, such as Bluebeam/Acrobat, Microsoft Project, Co-Construct, etc
Valid BC Drivers License, reliable transportation and smartphone
