As a Project Engineer, you’ll be an integral part of our construction operations team, helping ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget. Working closely with project managers, field supervisors, and subcontractors, you’ll assist in coordinating labor, materials, and schedules. This role offers hands-on exposure to job site activities, project planning, and execution, making it ideal for someone looking to grow their career in construction project management.

What We Ask of You:
- Support Project Managers in planning and coordinating mechanical construction activities, including piping, HVAC, and plumbing scopes.
- Assist in developing budgets for mechanical systems and monitor labor, materials, and equipment costs throughout the project.
- Track project schedules with a focus on mechanical milestones; help identify and mitigate risks that may impact critical path activities.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and field supervisors to ensure timely delivery and installation of mechanical systems.
- Facilitate clear communication between office staff, foremen, and clients to ensure mechanical project expectations are met.
- Support job site safety efforts by helping enforce compliance with mechanical safety standards and procedures.
- Manage submittals, RFIs, and change orders related to mechanical work, ensuring timely processing and resolution.
- Assist in reviewing mechanical-related invoices with clients to confirm accuracy and address discrepancies.
- Maintain daily job logs focused on mechanical progress, site activities, and coordination items to support project documentation.
Experience & Competencies:
- BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering or AAS Degree in a construction-related field.
- 0-5 years experience in the industry
- Proficiency in computer-based management systems
- Ability to climb ladders and stairs to view potential work
- Employee is required to perform typical office activities
- Employee must perform complex physical maneuvers, including lifting, stretching, climbing, crawling, etc.
- Work environment consists of standard office environment; temperature and noise levels in the work environment are moderate; aisle areas are open
- Work environment consists of construction areas that are often dirty, non-climate controlled, challenging to access, and dangerous
Danforth offers a competitive benefits package for eligible employees, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, paid time off, 401(k), with company match, and participation in our Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP). The estimated compensation range for this role is $65,000- $75,000. This range is based on several factors, including individual education, qualifications, training, prior work experience, and work location.
