The Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has an exciting opportunity. Are you passionate about the sustainable management of our state's natural resources, but also have a mind for real estate, rights-of-way, project management, and solving puzzles? This position is an entry-level opportunity working with the Engineering Divisions' Rights-of-Way Program, focusing on Easements, Licenses, Permits, and other land management agreements that support both Division and Regional Staff. This position will also perform quality control and assist in other duties as assigned, including research into land transactions, property rights, and land ownership.
Responsibilities:
Document tracking, including assisting with routing of documents for signature
Data entry into complex databases
Quality Control
GIS Data Entry
Document Scanning
Quality Assurance
Document Closeout
Assisting in Public Disclosure Requests
Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a field relevant to the position, including real estate, arboriculture, forestry, urban forestry, rights-of-way, legal studies, project management, or government administration.
AND One (1) or more years of experience as a Property and Acquisition Specialist 2 or equivalent.
OR Two (2) or more years of experience in a field relevant to the position, including real estate, arboriculture, forestry, urban forestry, rights-of-way, legal studies, project management, or government administration.
OR an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Demonstrated commitment to fostering and supporting an environment that honors diversity, equity, inclusion, and environmental justice practices.
Perform assigned duties in a manner consistent with applicable laws, regulations, and public records retention requests are followed.
Critical thinking skills to analyze and resolve issues.
Competent and effective communication and negotiation skills.
Proficient computer skills including a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
