NSC Technologies is actively hiring a Shipyard Electrical Supervisor to lead a team of electricians and electrical workers for a major marine/naval project in Marinette, WI. Position Overview:

As a Shipyard Electrical Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing electrical projects on Navy and commercial marine vessels. This includes managing teams, ensuring safety compliance, and delivering high-quality installations, maintenance, and repairs on shipboard systems. You'll work alongside the Electrical Superintendent to ensure project execution meets strict safety, quality, and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership & Supervision:

  • Direct and assign daily work tasks for a team of electricians and helpers
  • Provide training, mentoring, and on-site technical guidance
  • Monitor productivity and enforce safe work practices
  • Conduct performance evaluations and resolve employee concerns

Project Planning & Execution:

  • Plan and schedule marine electrical jobs, including estimating time and materials
  • Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, and specs
  • Oversee installation and repair of electrical systems: power distribution, switchboards, communication, and control systems
  • Ensure all work meets NAVSEA, ABS, and OSHA requirements

Safety & Compliance:

  • Promote a safety-first culture and ensure PPE and procedures are followed
  • Conduct hazard assessments, audits, and accident investigations
  • Maintain compliance with OSHA and maritime regulations
  • Complete and maintain safety and inspection records

Documentation & Reporting:

  • Maintain job records including manpower, material use, timekeeping, and project milestones
  • Submit reports on project status, equipment failures, and corrective actions

Technical Expertise:

  • Demonstrate mastery in marine electrical systems and troubleshooting
  • Apply knowledge of NEC, NAVSEA Standard Items, and shipyard protocols
  • Interface with engineering, quality, and subcontractor personnel to resolve issues

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with other department leads to ensure coordination and minimal downtime
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams, contractors, and clients

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience in a shipyard or marine environment
  • Strong knowledge of marine electrical systems, codes, and compliance standards
  • Ability to lead crews and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting
  • Proficient in reading blueprints and technical documentation
  • OSHA 10/30 certification strongly preferred
  • Experience working with Navy vessels or under NAVSEA standards is a plus

Work Environment:

Most work is performed aboard vessels, in shipyards, or industrial marine settings. Must be comfortable working in confined spaces, at heights, in varying weather conditions, and exposed to noise, fumes, and marine equipment.
