CAD Technician - Surveying

Job Summary:

  • We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled CAD Technician with a background in land surveying to support our engineering and survey teams.
  • Creates accurate technical drawings and supporting the development of survey documents in accordance with established standards.

Accountability and Duties:

  • Prepare detailed CAD drawing and survey plats with accuracy, using company standards and templates.
  • Assist in the planning and design of survey projects, including Boundary, Topographic, As-Built, Tree, and Construction Surveying.
  • Mentor and provide training to junior CAD staff as needed.
  • Accurately completes CAD drawings using firm standards.
  • Complete drawing assignments within specified deadlines.
  • Track and report time spent on tasks and projects with clear descriptions on a weekly basis.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support project and department needs.

Required Certificates, Licenses, Registration:

  • Valid driver's license.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Associates degree or technical experience

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Excellent oral and technical written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to design/engineer moderately difficult engineering projects
  • Available to work nights and weekends to complete a project as necessary
  • Ability to make independent decisions within a general framework
  • Knowledge of the industry and related software
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil3D, LDD and Microsoft Office
  • Must be fluent in the English language
