Project Coordinator

POWER Engineers, Member of WSP is seeking a Project Coordinator join the Power Delivery Program Management team. This position is an integral member of the project team working closely with Project Management, Production and Project Services within our clients Project Management office. The Project Coordinator is responsible for supporting, organizing, and controlling project activities for the Project Engineer/Department Manager/Project Manager. This position will contain aspects of Project Accounting. This position will interface with various types of Transmission and Distribution projects. This position is a remote position, located in our clients PMO office, and may require travel to the clients office and POWER regional offices.

Disclaimer: The candidate selected for this position may work remotely full-time at a location other than a POWER-designated office/job site. Employees may travel to a POWER office for periodic meetings.

Roles & Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the Project Manager with the technical and financial aspects of power delivery projects. Other responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:

  • Assist with the project planning process including initiation, design, engineering, material procurement, construction, commissioning, and close-out for multiple concurrent projects

  • Tracking and reporting on project deliverables and milestones on multi-discipline complex projects

  • Working closely with all levels of management and disciplines/departments within POWER; and coordinating & communicating relevant project information to the team

  • Providing high level coordination/administrative and analytic support to Project Managers

  • Assisting with scheduling deadlines and maintaining project deliverables schedules for multiple projects

  • Tracking project changes

  • Assisting with subcontractor/vendor process

  • Acting as liaison between POWER and clients as required

  • Maintaining project folders and ensuring document/record transfer information into ProjectWise

  • Attending project meetings (internal or with client) at the Project Managers discretion

  • Documenting and following up on important actions and decisions from meetings

Required Education/Experience

  • Bachelors degree (or equivalent industry-related experience) from an accredited University required, preferably in engineering, engineering management, or construction management discipline

  • One (1) + years of experience in the Electric Utility/Power Delivery market

  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Desired Education/Experience

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent industry related experience

  • Experience with MS Project, MS Visio, Oracle, MS Dynamcis, and/or ProjectWise

  • Certification from AACE or PMI
