Distribution Engineer I

Job Description

We are seeking motivated individuals with an Engineering degree to join our team as Distribution Engineers and Technicians. The role involves working on distribution projects, with a primary focus on design development and coordination. Training will be provided by experienced Distribution Engineers, and the position offers a blend of office work and occasional fieldwork.

Responsibilities

  • Perform engineering calculations, including structural analysis of poles, cable pulling, electric demand, fault currents, and coordination of protective devices.
  • Prepare forestry trimming requests and facilitate permit and Right-of-Way acquisition.
  • Develop a Bill of Materials (BOM) and estimate project costs.
  • Focus on design development and coordination (90% of the time) with occasional fieldwork (10%).
Essential Skills
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD.
  • Background in engineering with a focus on Power Distribution.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or Structural Engineering.
  • Teamwork and leadership skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Completed ABET-accredited 4-year Engineering Degree in Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical.
  • Experience with CAD design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Solidworks, MicroStation, Inventor, or MATLAB.
  • Passion and interest in Power Utilities and Distribution.
  • Possession of a valid Driver's License.
Work Environment

This is a fully on-site position located in Atlanta, Georgia. The office environment is open, promoting teamwork and collaboration among Designers, Engineers, and Design Technicians. The team supports distribution projects and works in groups to achieve project goals. The position is a Contract-to-Hire role with a duration of 6 months.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $29.81 - $29.81/hr.
