Key Responsibilities

  • The Project Superintendent will coordinate and manage all on-site activities, working with project teams including Project Managers, Project Engineers, Trade Superintendents, Foremen, Field Personnel, and other office departments. The goal is to deliver successful projects to owners, on time and on budget, with the desired level of quality.
  • Ensuring all required materials, equipment, and inspections occur to support the project schedule.
  • Overseeing site safety, ensuring the jobsite is safe for workers and visitors, and managing compliance with established company safety policies.
  • Forecasting and managing field personnel, equipment, materials, tools, and other tasks impacting schedule.
  • Preparing work plans with project teams.
  • Reviewing and ensuring field execution of contract documents such as plans, specifications, and manufacturer's data.
  • Reviewing construction documents for completeness and constructability.
  • Managing the overall project and look-ahead schedules.
  • Collaborating with the team to generate RFIs (Requests for Information) to ensure completeness of project documents and clarify discrepancies.
  • Reviewing submittals for compliance with project manual, specifications, plans, manufacturer's recommendations, and applicable codes or standards.
  • Managing and executing the company's quality control program.
  • Conducting preconstruction planning.
  • Conducting on-site project meetings with subcontractors and construction trades lead personnel.
  • Managing subcontractors for all work performed on-site.
  • Supporting foremen and ensuring they have the resources and information to perform their tasks effectively and efficiently.
  • Maintaining relationships with customers, visitors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Managing site work and logistics of the construction site.
  • Providing feedback on processes and procedures, as the company believes in continuous development.
  • Performing additional assignments as directed by Project Manager.
  • Supervising and coordinating HVAC and or plumbing systems installations.
  • Ensuring effective coordination with general contractors and other subcontractors to avoid conflicts and schedule delays.
  • Utilizing construction management software (e.g., Procore, PlanGrid, or equivalent) for documentation, field reporting and communication.
  • Assisting with system startup, commissioning, and turnover activities, ensuring all punch-list items are addressed and project closeout is completed.
  • Mentoring field staff and promoting workforce development within the company.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of proven leadership or supervisory role.
  • 10+ years of construction experience.
  • Basic computer skills with experience in Bluebeam and MS Office preferred.
  • Current Florida driver's license and be able to pass an MVR/DPASS.
  • This position may require travel within the region.
  • Occasional evening and weekend work may be required to meet project deadlines or attend industry events.
  • This position requires the ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 25 pounds on a regular basis. The employee must be capable of performing physical tasks such as bending, reaching, and lifting within OSHA ergonomic safety guidelines. Safe lifting techniques must be used to comply with all applicable workplace safety standards.
