Job Description

In this position the incumbent will serve as a supervisor to one Physical Plant Mechanic II, on-going incidental/preventative maintenance and repairs during their routine duties, delivering supplies to all DMVs and toll plazas, inspecting facilities regarding their condition, delegate work to their subordinate, and provide support to the Division for daily operation. Including addition, utilize computerized systems to place supply orders, work with vendors regarding repairs/quotes, maintain the warehouse, and other duties as assigned within their work scope.

JOB REQUIREMENTS for Physical Plant Maintenance/Trades Foreman

Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:

Three years experience in operating and maintaining a variety of equipment, hand and power tools used in trades fields such as plumbing, carpentry, painting or HVAC.

Three years experience in performing work in a variety of trades fields such as plumbing, carpentry, painting or HVAC.

Six months experience in estimating cost, time and materials for projects.

Six months experience in interpreting blueprints, schematics or technical drawings.

Knowledge of interpreting safety and building codes, laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures.

Knowledge of staff supervision acquired through course work, academic training, training provided through an employer, or performing as a lead worker overseeing the work of others; OR supervising staff which may include planning, assigning, reviewing, and evaluating the work of others; OR supervising through subordinate supervisors a group of professional, technical, and clerical employees.

Possession of a valid Driver's License (not suspended, revoked or cancelled, or disqualified from driving).
